Welcome to our youth page! We are glad you're interested in finding out more about our youth ministry! "SALT" stands for "Serving And Learning Together." For years, our youth ministry has been known for its heart for missions. What better name to describe who we are and why we exist?! We serve together and we learn together here at MBC, knowing HIM and making HIM known, all for HIS glory!
If you're in the 7th-12th grade, there is a place for you in SALT Student Ministries! In addition to serving and learning together, we also have a lot of fun! We have several opportunities each week to hang out and random fun events planned as well.
We're part of a growing family here at MBC and we'd love to have you join us! We're not just a place to come once or twice a week, but a place that wants to connect with you and to meet your needs. If I can ever help you and/or pray for you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me! I'm here for YOU (and for your parents)! Call, text, e-mail, Facebook, or drop by any time! May God bless you and your family!
With YOUth on My Heart,
Jonathan Hale <><

Romans 8 Challenge
Jonathan has challenged himself, all the adult youth ministry volunteer leaders, and all of the youth, both middle schoolers and high schoolers to memorize the ENTIRE CHAPTER of Romans 8!
This challenge will take you far beyond VBS verse memorization. Romans 8 is full of awesome theological truths and will challenge you spiritually as you attempt the seemingly impossible task of memorizing 39 verses.
ALL youth who succeed in this challenge by the end of February will receive $50 for their student account to go toward any future youth trip. The FIRST person who succeeds will receive a special bonus prize! Good luck!!!

Valentine's Day Banquet Fundraiser
Sunday, Feb. 12
5:30-7:30 p.m.
The adult couples of MBC have this banquet yearly and the youth serve as waiters and waitresses as they enjoy their evening. The adults always tip well and the money raised goes towards each student's account for youth trips. Here are a few points to remember about this year's banquet:
- All youth are encouraged to participate. Youth attending the mission trip are required to participate.
- All youth need to wear a white shirt and black pants. Guys are encouraged to wear a tie, too.
- Please arrive on time at 5:30 for your instructions. Have rides to pick you up by 7:30. Pizza will be provided for your supper, free of charge.

To go alongside what the rest of the church is learning, the high school youth will also be diving into the book of James in the Bible study series entitled, Vivid. Youth Praise Band
This semester, we have started a youth praise band to lead our youth together in live musical praise and worship to God! Brad Kornegay is the adult mentor for the band (and lead guitar). Our goal is to have the band established and student-led in the months to come. Currently, our band members are as follows:
- Jake Bryon: Vocals
- Allison Flowers: Vocals
- Jonas Bryson: Bass
- Adam Lucas: Guitar
- Ryan McGinnis: Drums
We still would like a keyboardist, so contact Jonathan or Brad if you're interested!
Love God. Share God. Share Life.
(I Thessalonians 2:8)
"Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart."
~Elizabeth Andrew
Youth Ministry isn't possible without the faithful dedication of volunteer leaders! Our volunteers are greatly appreciated and highly valued! During the 2011-2012 school year, we will be having either a volunteer retreat and/or monthly training opportunities to keep us all up-to-date on current youth ministry culture.
If you love God and teenagers and would like to join our team, please see Jonathan!
