Update for 2/16/18

Reading the Bible Through Wednesdays at 10 am. Please read 1 & 2 Thessalonians for preparation.

Masonboro 101 introduces newcomers to the life and ministry of Masonboro. Pastor Gordon will be teaching the second session of this class in the library Sunday (2/18) and will repeat the first session for anyone that missed next Sunday, Feb. 25th

A Journey Through Lent: Beginning Sunday at 10 am, the Issues Class will begin a new study in Room 201. All are invited.

Positive Parenting Program: Free session sponsored by Smart Start and Noah’s Ark on Feb. 18 and 25 4-5:30 pm in Room 201. 

Lent, which began last Wednesday, is a 40-day period (excluding Sundays) of giving attention to Jesus’ journey to Jerusalem and our response to his grace. Devotionals are on the front pew for daily reflection. 

Business Conference: Sunday, Feb. 25 at 9:45 in the sanctuary. End of year financial reports are available on the front pew. 

Senior Adults: Senior’s Morning Out Monday, Feb. 19; First Friday Friday, March 2 at 11 am.

Easter Egg Hunt: Saturday, Mar 24 at 10 am. Donations of candy (nut and chocolate free; small enough to put in plastic eggs) are requested. See Shirley to volunteer with the event.

Pictorial Church Directories: Have your picture taken by “Doug the Picture Man” for our new directory. You will have the option to purchase your portraits, but this isn’t required. We want to have as many of our families represented as possible, so save these dates: March 10 9-5; March 11 10-5; March 14 2-6. Sign up for your session using the link on our homepage. The new directories will be available in late spring in digital & printed formats.

Homeless/Poor Project Critical Needs: coats, hats, gloves, socks, handwarmers, towels, washcloths, toiletries, flip flops (L/XL), blankets, sleeping bags, tarps, canned fruits and vegetables (preferably size 10), spices and chili powder. Place donations in the bins outside the office. You can also help with this project by contributing financially to Masonboro Baptist Church and marking your check for the Homeless/Poor. Thanks for your help!

Welcome Wagon: WE NEED VOLUNTEERS FOR THIS MINISTRY! Help make our guests feel at home by volunteering for the Welcome Wagon. You sign up for times that fit your schedule. See what the available time slots are at or see Shirley for more information.

Habitat for Humanity Ecumenical Build: We need volunteers to sign up for the following: 2/17-Groundbreaking and digging footers, 3/10-Walls raising and rafters & lunch for volunteers, 3/17-Sheath roof, 4/7-Vinyl siding, & 6/2- Landscaping and clean-up at If you are interested with helping prepare the lunches for March 10, please talk with Randy Anderson.

Food for Haiti Packing Event: We’ll partner again this year with Coastal Christian High School to pack meals for Haiti. Volunteers and donations are needed for the event, which will be held on March 10 from 2-5 pm. See Wes Hunter for more information. Children’s Sunday School classes are collecting money through March 4 to support this project.
